If you are considering entering the plumbing trade with little or no previous experience the City & Guilds 6129-2 Level 2 Technical Certificate is the first qualification you should obtain as it is the world wide and industry recognised standard for a general domestic plumber. The C&G 6129-2 Technical Certificate is the foundation training for your plumbing career and provides you with all the technical and practical skills to carry out work as a General Domestic Plumber. It also ensures you can continue to progress within the plumbing trade on to more advanced training courses.
This course provides you with a part-time flexible learning allowing you to fit the course around your work or personal commitments.
We have recently introduced a Pay-as-you-go training programme, which will enable you, with the help of your own dedicated student mentor, to earn and learn at the same time.

Course Overview
The C&G 6129-2 Level 2 Technical certificate qualification is completed in two stages:
Stage One: Is the technical theory side and this is delivered through a superb self study learning program allowing you ‘learn at your own pace’ allowing you to fit the theory training around your current job or commitments. When you are confident to take your exams all you need to do is book a time and date to come in and take your exam/s you are ready to sit here at The Plumbing Academy.
Stage Two: Is the vital practical training and practical assessments. This is undertaken at The Plumbing Academy workshops when you have completed and passed your twelve theory exams. Your practical training is where you put all that theory into practice, as you receive the best expert hands on training with our qualified plumbing teachers and assessors. The practical training and assessments can be booked (Monday-Saturday) as day or multi-day block modules allowing you to plan your workshop training modules and assessments to fit it around your current commitments.

Course Content
The 6129-2 Technical Certificate comprises of the following eleven exam modules: Health & Safety, Plumbing Principles, Plumbing Processes, Cold water, Hot water, Sanitation, Central heating, Electrical, Lead, Environmental awareness, Effective working relationships.
The practical workshop training and assessments will result in you being a professionally skilled plumber capable of installing and/or working on any plumbing job or system that handles clean or dirty water from underground drainage through central heating and hot water systems to complete bathrooms installations.

Location: Home study program and at The Plumbing Academy for practical training and assessments.
